Pattern Summary

A static site pattern on Azure commonly starts with Blob Storage static website hosting and may later add CDN and custom domain capabilities. The design separates content delivery from server-side compute and is a useful entry point into cloud delivery patterns.

This pattern matters because it introduces access control, public delivery boundaries, deployment workflows, and low-cost web hosting without requiring a full application runtime.

When This Pattern Fits

Use this pattern when:

  • the workload is mostly static content,
  • the team wants very little runtime operations overhead,
  • the access model is simple enough to manage through storage hosting and Azure identity,
  • and the main goal is predictable publishing rather than dynamic application behavior.

When Not to Use It

Do not use this pattern when the site needs complex server-side behavior, heavy per-user state, or backend processing at request time.
